It Should Have Been You - Michael Murphy This reads as overly-dramatic but the author's note indicates that this is based on a true story (with an adjustment to give us readers more of a HEA). If that is true, it's horrifying that so many people who are supposed to look out for our children could be so incredibly inept and uncaring. The father's appearance at the end was a little too convenient for me(I'm not sure if that's part of the revised HEA) and I found it doubtful that he'd been frantically searching for his son the whole time. And I was stunned that not one adult thought to call Children's Services to help this sixteen year old, instead giving him both theoretical and practical (in the form of Juan) advice on how to become a rentboy.
