Andrew Grey's books are either a big hit or a big miss for me. I'm either immediately drawn in or it's a DNF. This one was a hit. :) I think Darryl's childhood trauma was well written and I loved the twins. I was surprised by the twist and devastated for Billy. I sobbed buckets.I hated the way the twins dialogue was written as a) it wasn't consistently written that way, b) I can't stand lisps or accents being phonetically written, and c) five year olds shouldn't talk like that normally (and it's unlikely that both boys would suffer the same speech impediment).
